The EU wants to know whether you would like more censorship of the internet

September 4, 2020 | The EU Commission has announced a legislative package on digital services. In preparation, a public survey of citizens and companies has been launched. Among other things, it is concerned with the fight against so-called disinformation, i.e. content that is legal but is considered “harmful”.

A somewhat obscure US-based consumer protection organization called SumOfUs is calling for participation under the motto: “Let’s flood the EU’s survey on disinformation!.” The efforts of SumOfUs to “stop big corporations from behaving badly” are financially supported by the Open Society Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, among others. Probably nobody epitomizes “big corporations acting badly” more than the “robber barons” Rockefeller.

The barely published exercises of the EU in perfunctory citizen participation have notoriously low participation rates and are usually – as in this case – formulated in a severely biased way to achieve the desired result. To prevent the call from SumOfUs from allowing the EU Commission to be able to announce a desire on the part of EU citizens for more Internet censorship, it is important that as many people as possible take part in the survey.

To participate in the survey, it will be necessary to use or create an account with the EU survey organization. The questionnaire is a bit long, but does not have to be filled in completely. Chapters C and D have the most important questions on the fight against “disinformation”, aka censorship.

Once you have signed into the survey, you can change the language by clicking on “English”.
